Types of Glaucoma
There are two types of glaucoma:
- open-angle
- acute closed-angle glaucoma
A comprehensive eye exam is the only way to diagnose this condition, especially open-angle glaucoma which may go unnoticed for years before causing vision damage. Therefore, regular eye exams are very important for people over 35, or those in other high-risk groups.
Treatment for this condition ranges from eye drops to surgery, with the goal of controlling intraocular pressure.
